Elm Oyster, Hypsizygus ulmarius
You rarely find the Elm Oyster in the wild or in stores, but you can find it here, because we love growing it, eating it, and sharing it with local restaurants and mushroom-loving friends and neighbors. This species produces big, beautiful mushrooms with a rich, meaty flavor and chewy texture. We think it has the best flavor and texture among the oyster types, and it's easy to grow.

I followed the directions to the letter and I got a bounty of fresh delicious mushrooms! I even got enough to share with my son. This kit is fun and fascinating to grow. I grew the Hantana also with great success but the Elm has a far superior taste in my opinion.
If you have never tried to grow your own mushrooms give it a try. I think you will be glad you did!

I love these kits. I have done a few. Simple, fun, educational and let's not forget, delicious. It has been mixed for about 12-13 days. The substrate has white mycelium throughout the bag, it is firm and has condensation of fluids in the domed bag and is about ready to activate with an X cut. I will edit in a week or two. after the first flush.

Very professional and quick handling of the order and the package looks great upon arrival.
I rated it a 4 and not a 5 since we have not started the process yet, so I can not tell you how easy the start up is or how well the growing goes.

I am very happy with this kit. the instructions are very simple and well explained. It is absolutely amazing how quickly the substrate is taken over by mycelium takes over. I have had way better results with these kits than any others I have tried.

I started the Elm Oyster kit this past Saturday and set it aside to start the incubation. And by Monday night, I could already see the mycelium from the grain branching out all over throughout the sawdust! This has been the fastest incubation yet!...kudos once again to T.I.F.!!!

One week since I started incubating: I have mycelium fully propagating the bag and no signs of contamination. I am looking forward my yields. Instructions were easy to follow, and minimal sterilization, something anyone can do is required.
I recommend this product to anyone interested in getting their foot into the mycological door.
